非日本國的外國火腿申請每張獎狀的費用為16張IRC(萬國郵劵)，追加認證的加簽申請為8張IRC。
5. Applicants can request formaximum three of the following four endorsements:
o Bands (Only contacts made within the same band): All amateur bands
o Modes (Only contacts made in the same mode): CW, AM SSB, FM, SSTV, Digital,ATV, FAX
o Satellites (Only contacts made through Amateur Satellite)
o QRP (Only contacts made through transmitters with OUTPUT of 5 wattsor less)
o QRPp (Only contacts made through transmitters with OUTPUT of 0.5watts or less)
每個申請最多可要求4項加註，所謂的加註是指以單一項目來達成獎狀，例如AJD(All Japan Districts)只要10張日本0~9的卡片就可申請，但你也可蒐集10張都是6米的卡片來申請6M AJD。
可以加註的項目有：
頻帶(所有通聯為單一頻帶) ：任何業餘頻帶
模式(所有通聯為單一模式) ：CW, AM SSB, FM, SSTV, Digital, ATV, FAX
衛星(所有通聯均透過衛星)
小功率(所有通聯均在5W以下)
極小功率(所有通聯均在0.5W以下)
6. Only contacts (receptions) madeon and after July 29, 1952 will be acceptable.
所有申請的通聯記錄需在1952年7月29日以後才算。
7. Only contacts with landstations (including mobile stations on a river or lake) will be acceptable.Those with maritime and aeronautical stations, however, will be acceptable forthe 50MHz-100, 144MHz-100, 430MHz-100, 1200MHz, 2400MHz, 5600MHz, 10GHz, 24GHz,47GHz, 75GHz and VU-1000 awards.
只有陸地電台才接受申請(包含在河流或湖泊的移動台)所有的獎狀，海上與航空電台只能申請表列的這些獎狀。
8. Only contacts with amateurstations authorized by the administration will be acceptable. Contacts with theFar East Military Auxiliary Stations in Japan will not be acceptable.
只有跟經主管機關授權的業餘電台通聯才能申請獎狀，與在日本的遠東軍事輔助電台通聯是不允許的。
9. All contacts must be made onland (river/lake) within the same Entity.
申請者的所有通聯必須在同一位置。

基本上全世界大多數的獎狀申請通則都是這樣的條文，多看幾種之後就會發現大同小異，除了DXCC等較嚴謹的獎狀之外(近年DXCC也順應時代進步推出不用QSL卡片的LoTW)，很多獎狀都已經不須附上QSL卡，有些甚至是網路上就可申請，對新手尤其方便。
